The Mountain Area Business Association(MABA) was established in 2003 and currently has 94 members. Current members represent businesses that have a vested interest in the growth of our community.
MABA offers a terriffic opportunity to network with other area businesses. We offer the opportunity to advertise your business on a large sign in the outfield of the Mountain Ball Diamond and as part of the Fireman’s Park Christmas Train.
We offer advertising throughout the area in our eye-catching, tri-fold brochure and also have a page on Facebook. As MABA members, we give back to the community in many ways. Each year we offer a $500 scholarship to a student at Suring High School going on to major in business. MABA and its members are also active participants and donors in local charities, fundraisers and events. MABA also sponsors many of its own events throughout the year including the Spring Opener Fishoree where children can fish in our trout ponds, giving some their only opportunity to enjoy this sport.
Memorial Weekend Parade is held every May where we can “strut our stuff” in front of community members and visitors. The Fire “Quacker” 500 in September, where some go a little crazy over our rubber duckies. The Snowmobile Ice Drags on the 2nd Saturday of February and Truck Ice Drags on the 3rd Saturday attract much needed tourists in the middle of winter.
In October we sponsor the Mountain “Sweet Street” Trick or Treat giving our children a safe place to trick or treat. In November we assemble our Christmas Train in Fireman’s Park and in December we have our Outdoor Decorating Contest. These events serve not only as fundraisers for MABA, but are great promotions in drawing tourists and visitors to the Mountain Area.
